This image was made on the most frightening day of our lives - the day we went off-roading around the Escalante Staircase Parklands. We naively hoped to "pop out" at Lake Powell in two hours. Instead we ended up 57 miles from nowhere with no water, two Butterfingers, 24 warm beer and no cell phone batteries. Damn that travel guide. This grove of trees was an oasis after a long day.
