PIONEER SALOON
Goodsprings, Nevada, July 1998
Nothing beats a cold beer after a sunny day in the desert, so we headed
into the Pioneer. Its America's only remaining all-tin structure and,
as we discovered, a haven for bikers. We didn't feel very welcome. The
waitress banged our drafts down and said "Two bucks". Never
looked at us again. We think we know why there were no doors on the bathroom
stalls. That way no one can sneak up on you and shoot you while you're
indisposed.
