The Mother Road, quite simply, is the best 1700+ miles of blacktop you will find anywhere...IF you can find it! Old 66 is quickly being eaten up by new Interstates and urban sprawl. It takes some hunting to locate the original road, but it is well worth the effort. The greatest thing about Route 66 are the people you meet along the way. We've met some great Road characters over the years. Coffee and a mile-high slice of diner cream pie is a great icebreaker. So friends, if you've never driven Route 66, do it soon. Go out and get your kicks while you still can.
